The last few days of living there I would walk around the house saying silent thank yous. Feeling gratitude for the privilege of being in this house’s lineage.
Wishing you lots of calmness and a smooth transition, no matter how long it takes. I feel the same about organizing home-ed activities for my kids: if they are busy, I feel like I am "busy" and things are OK/moving along. It's a funny thing but also trying to go with it.
🤍 I so enjoyed all the different aspects to this. You are spot on with the self-abandonment thing. I wish I could not do that too but I suppose it’s only recently I’ve noticed how I so easily slip into that.
It’s been a few days since we’ve caught/seen one. So yay for pest control! 🤞I did catch a skink in the house today, so this temporary home keeps things exciting.

glad to see you're back on Substack!
this piece feels so, so relatable.
my family was in a similar transition two years ago (almost to the day!) and it's like you're writing what I couldn't then ♥️ thanks for sharing.
hope the roach situation gets resolved quickly, eek.

Love this! Thank you for sharing your where you're at and the honesty of writing over three weeks. Sending love.💜
Thank you! I’m very much living day by day right now, but there’s ease in staying more present too.
